Basilica Maria del Mare_6068

The Santa Maria del Mar Basilica, built in the 1300’s, takes my breath away.

It was begun almost seven hundred years ago.

I suppose I’m not unlike other mothers, who, on hearing the echoes of their children’s voices inside the walls, think, How did the clever builders of the ancient Ribera Guild know? How did they know, all those years ago, that their handiwork would be my private delight?

How amazing is that cathedral?? Breathtaking. The thing that must be so awesome about having an extended stay there, is that you explore so many treasures that you wouldn’t have time for on a quick trip.

I’m totally serious about trying to find a way to live abroad for a while (in France since my husband speaks ze language:) ). I’ll have to email you and pick your brain a little.

Hello friend! How awesome, that there’s a French speaker among you. Wish I knew THAT language! If you’re serious about a move-abroad chat, then by all means shoot me an email. As I’m sure you can tell, there are tough things as well as brilliant things about living here. But we’re learning the ropes, and I’m happy to share my ideas. Have a lovely day . . . and a besito for each cheek, Spanish style. Becky

Your photos of the basilica take my breath away – outstanding. Love the reds.

Dominique! Fun to hear from you. I’m still waiting for you to write the definitive book on eating raw while raising children who don’t/won’t! I would eat so differently if I weren’t feeding the fam everyday. But maybe you’re at the point where you’ve found some answers to that dilemna, in which case . . . share away! Besos, Becky
