On The Theme Of Cathedral Colors at Templo de Sagrat Cor, Tibidabo

High up on Tibidabo, a mountain overlooking Barcelona, the Templo de Sagrat Cor guards its color. From the outside, you see only stone (de rigueur for European cathedrals, of course). But from the inside?

Colors rich. Deep. Dare I say riotous? I mean–look!

Because ‘vivid’ doesn’t quite describe it. (As you can plainly see.)

Maybe the phrase “Cathedral Colors” says it all. Because sometimes they are in fact more nuanced.

Indeed, sometimes they fall away altogether in the service of a more exalted theme.
